Central is a place where you can be yourself – a place where you will be inspired by the words and songs that you hear, and a place where you will be moved to reconnect with God. Central is for people of all ages, backgrounds and interests, even if you never attended church regularly before.
The atmosphere at Central Church is casual, welcoming and relevant. If you like to dress up, you can dress up. If you prefer more casual clothes, like jeans or sneakers, you can wear those, too. In each service you will experience exciting music and see overhead screens where song lyrics are displayed so you can join in singing even if the song is new to you. You will find a preacher who may use a prop, story or video clip to make a point while always making the Bible message relatable to everyday life. You will find friendly people who live, work and play in the greater Green Bay community, who have a love for God and for each other. But most importantly, you will experience a setting where God will speak to you and your situation.
Central Church is a Christian church affiliated with the Assemblies of God denomination.

Community Groups meet at various times and locations throughout the week.
We get asked a lot where our church is located, because it’s tucked away in a neighborhood community. We’re located on the east side of Green Bay – a short drive from Bellevue, De Pere, Allouez, Ledgeview, and neighboring communities. It’s worth the trip out to one of our exciting, dynamic, and fun weekend services!
We are located at 831 Schoen St., Green Bay, WI 54302
1/2 mile from the intersection of Main Ave. & Mason St. on the east side of Green Bay
Each weekend your child can be part of an exciting and active children’s church environment filled with songs, games, and fun activities that teach Godly values at an age-appropriate level. Our weekend KidCentral services meet at the same time as the adult service, and are designed for all children from birth – 6th grade. We offer a safe check in/out system, and the safety of your children is our top priority. So while you are experiencing the creative, life-changing worship of Central, your children are experiencing it as well.
Junior high and high school are a crazy time of life for every student. It’s when every teenager starts forming the foundation and identity of who they are, what they believe, and who they want to become. We believe God desires to be a part of that process. We believe God has an amazing story and journey for every teenager that will open themselves up to a relationship with God.
ONE Youth is open to all students 7th – 12th grade. We also provide other opportunities for teens to connect, serve, reach, and grow through various events and activities throughout the year.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man and is the only one who can reconcile us to God. Each time we partake of communion we remember Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
God’s Plan For Man
We believe sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. In order to receive forgiveness we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives. God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and powerful lives in order to help others more effectively. To live the holy, fruitful, and power-filled lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water, set our mind on Him and His purpose, and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
God’s Plan For The Church
We believe God has individually equipped us and corporately gathered us as His living body so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, strengthen the Church, and share the Gospel with the community in which we live.
God’s Plan For The End Times
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised and will rule and reign on this earth. History will conclude as the wicked are judged and the righteous enter a new heaven and a new earth.
Central Church has been an established part of the city of Green Bay for years, dating back to its beginnings in 1935. It was then that a small group of people bought the Congregational Church at Crooks & Adams in downtown Green Bay and began meeting together regularly. The church was known as the Gospel Tabernacle.
In 1958, when it was obvious the building could no longer serve their purposes, those original members decided to relocate. In doing so, they established two separate churches; First Assembly of God in west Green Bay and Central Assembly of God in east Green Bay. The Central Assembly of God congregation settled on the corner of Cherry and Van Buren. They remained at this location until 1981 when they relocated to their current location: 831 Schoen Street in east Green Bay.
Throughout the years Central has been a place for people to find help, hope, and most importantly, God. It’s been a place where people of all ages, all races, and all religious backgrounds could come together and become part of a larger family. Even after all these years, people find Central to be a place where they can grow in their faith, connect with others like family, and simply have fun!
In July of 2008, Central Church celebrated their 50th Anniversary. And while we took a moment to look back and celebrate the successes of 50 years, our focus is clearly defined as we strive to write the next chapter in Central’s story. We believe that our best years aren’t behind us – they are ahead of us.
In 2006, Mark & Tricia Cox began leading Central Church into a new era. With their leadership, Central has become very intentional at helping people CONNECT with God, GROW in their faith, learn to SERVE others, and REACH the unchurched.
2018 was an amazing year for Central, as we were able to launch Pastor Mark & Tricia Cox to work directly for Convoy of Hope, our GOglobal partner and world-renown international disaster relief and development organization based out of Springfield, MO.
In January 2018, we witnessed a beautiful transition of leadership to see Pastor Aaron & May Schaut step into the role of lead pastor, after having served alongside Pastor Mark & Tricia for 11 years as the associate pastor! We couldn’t be more excited for the wealth of experience, passion, and spirit-led leadership that Pastor Aaron & May bring to us in this crucial season of growth that we are already witnessing.
We would love to have you become part of our story! Each week people are going beyond religion and really experiencing God in a way that is relevant to their everyday lives. Plenty of people have made Central their home and there is still room for you!
